Kinesio Taping Research Updates
Many of my clients ask if Kinesio® Tape really works, or if it’s just a placebo. After using Kinesio Tape in my clinics for over 11 years and teaching it for 5, I know it does more than just make our muscles feel a bit more supported. The key is using it the right way—by assessing first, applying the tape correctly, then checking the results. Done properly, it helps people feel genuine changes to the level of pain, improvements in range of motion and strength.and ulitmately recover faster from all types of physical challenges to our body. Whether the challenges are from surgery, injury, degeneration or simply from walking an excited dog, Kinesiotaping has a place in our clinics to help all of our patients.
The first weekend in October this year brought together the researchers and Kinesiotaping therapists and instructors to Turkey for the KTA® Turkey Kinesio Medical Taping International Research Symposium. The results of this research symposium have been published in the Journal of Exercise Therapy and Rehabilitation. 2026;Sup (7)
Having read through the research I realised that what we as Kinesio® Taping Practitioners do is so much more than just "putting on tape" We work on more than just the skin. More than just muscles and more than just pain. Please have a read of the Research symposium Published Research. You will then be able see the groundbreaking treatment this therapuetic tool can bring to your clinic and to ulitmately help you clients and patients move and feel better. Being an educated and trained Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) allows you to bring the results of this symposium directly to your patients.
